"Chex" is an own daughter of Peppermint Chex, a NRCHA Maturity Champion and Futurity Finalist, dam of multiple performance champions and producing stallions by great sires such as Dry Doc and Doc O'Lena. Her dam line is so powerful... Peppermint Chex is by King Fritz whose name speaks for itself, and out of Jess Chick, another great performing/producing mare. "Chex" sire is Peppys Pep Up, a NCHA $ Earner, Certificate of Achievement award winner and sire of NCHA $ earners and futurity finalists. "Chex" was trained to rein as a two year old & blew out her knees... she was later used for roping, barrels and poles and shown in open events in California. She is big, about 15.3hh and has an incredible powerful hip and shoulder and should match really well with "Flashy" and his breeding.

We are so blessed to have acquired this mare. She came to us in July of 2007 to be bred and had just been purchased that day by Laddie Graham. It was my first opportunity to meet Laddie and we really hit it off - she even knew the person who had trained and shown "Breezie" our 23 year-old Doc O'Lena mare when she was just two. Needless to say, we spent the afternoon talking and laughing about horses and people.

Unfortunately, Laddie was killed in an automobile accident a couple of months later at only 45. I can not tell you what a profound effect it has had on me. Anyone who knew Laddie understood how special she was. Chex is our daily reminder not to let life get too crazy or forget what is important. Laddie's family was kind enough to allow us to keep "Chex" with the stallions Laddie had chosen for her. We eagerly await her "Flashy" foal that is due in July... she's making us wait that long but we know it will be worth it!

"Breezie" has a wonderful story. Bred by Karl Smith, Diamond S Ranch, she was shown as a three year old and was a Cutting Futurity Champion. She went on to produce 13 foals of which one is an AQHA Performance Champion. She was hand picked by Karl and sold at the prime age of twenty-two to hit the cutting pen again after having not been ridden in 16 years and teach a rookie how to cut! Don't let her age fool you... this mare is still a cadillac ride and turns it on in the presence of a cow!
